New Trends on Indian Beaches

Have you ever thought how much fun, frolic and pleasure one gets while holidaying on beaches with friends and family? More so if you live in a country where the climatic conditions are ever wintry, then  you will surely enjoy the sun basking and interplay of sand and surf. When it comes to beach holidays, India enjoys a fair share of beaches that offer both seclusion and vibrancy and looks truly virgin.
A very interesting thing that must be noted is that the tourist scene on Indian beaches have gradually changed over the course of time. It is quite surprising to know that the tourism scenario was never the same as compared to present times. Goa, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Orissa are few prominent destinations from the perspective of India beach vacations. In this post, I will put emphasis on the new trends that are surfacing on Indian beaches.

Goa Beaches
This tiny Indian state is the most visited destination in India as far as its tourism statistics are concerned. Popularly known as the ‘Beach Capital of India’, Goa has a long coastline of 125 kilometers divided as North Goa and South Goa. The current trance party scene on Goa beaches began with the arrival of the hippies during 1960’s. They were described as the youth on a spiritual quest and considered as insane by many people. The concept of the shacks is a great innovation for those who are not accustomed to the heat and enjoy the sea breeze. In the evening, these shacks transformed into a fun filled party destination.

The ambience on Goa beaches is quite chilled out and full of happy-go-lucky people and their clothes are characterized by bright and floral prints. Those planning to bask in the sun swimsuits, trunks and colorful sarong are the best options. Goa is a treat for non-vegetarians and seafood are a major specialty of its restaurants. Don’t miss to try out Feni-the local drink made with coconut sap and cashew nuts. The beach wedding trend is quite popular in Goa as it offers a perfect venue complete with azure Arabian Sea and swaying palm trees and Park Hyatt Resort & Spa is the best place to experience that.

Kerala Beaches
Another prolific beach destination in Kerala is Kovalam where international tourists throng in large numbers. A small fishing village in early 1900’s, Kovalam shot to  fame after the arrival of the hippies in 1970’s. The latest trend which is fast catching the eye of global nomads coming to Kovalam is Ayurvedic wellness resorts owing to the natural wealth of Kerala. Some popular names in this list are Somatheeram Beach Resort and Manaltheeram Beach Resort.

Chennai Beaches
The charming beaches of Chennai offer a perfect retreat from the tropical climate of this metropolitan city. The shimmering white sands, calming views of the Arabian Sea and the cool breeze is what beckons its residents as well as the tourists. If recent reports are anything to be believed, the state tourism board has approved the appeal of turning the Marina beach into a water sport haven.
Indian beaches have attained global reckon for providing the perfect ambience for fun and relaxation. Right from Goa to Kerala to Chennai, each destination has come up with new trends and innovations for supporting the growth of tourism in this region.

There are some other magnificent beaches on Kovalam, Andamans and Gokarna. Therey are less crowded and much pristine than the other beaches.
